BIO: Martin Rutte is an international speaker and consultant. As President of Livelihood, a management consulting firm in Santa Fe, NM, he explores the deeper meaning of work and its contribution to society.
A leader in the emerging management field of spirituality in the workplace, Martin is committed to reconnecting business with its natural source of creativity, innovation and compassion. His pioneering work on spirituality in the workplace was featured on the ABC-TV special, Creativity: Touching the Divine. BIO: Marcia Jaffe took a short vacation to Bali in October 2003 to recuperate from producing a huge international conference in California. While traveling, she found herself in deep dialogue with numerous Balinese, and was drawn to their commitment to spirituality, balance and community life.
Being profoundly affected by the "intelligence" of this culture, she returned home with the seed of an idea to host a global event that would allow people everywhere to learn from the Balinese on how to live in harmony with values that matter. Appointed to the Air Force Academy after high school, Wade received an honorable medical discharge resulting from a severe case of meningitis and his first experience with bipolar disorder. He eventually enrolled at the University of Georgia, received his BBA and MA, was named the most outstanding senior accounting student, and served as President of Beta Alpha Psi, the accounting honor society. Wade worked for two accounting firms and several corporations before joining the federal government in 1979. He retired in 1999. Soldiers of Love partners with other charities with similar goals, both in the local New Orleans community and beyond.
